Food is mediocre at best. Stopped in for lunch because we hadn't ate here before and haven't been back since, that was 3 years ago.

Seriously, how can this place get four stars?? We went there once and I'll NEVER go back. After we left (with virtually all of our food still on the plate) we went to KFC so we could have better food. We got the day's special, chicken and dumplings. AWFUL! Lumps of dough in a floury sauce with a few bits of stringy chicken. Bleah. And the sides -- a bunch of deep fried uningestable bits of something. There's an animal hospital in the same complex and because of the juxtaposition of the signage, we laughingly referred to it as the "Animal Hospital Diner" before we ate there. Now we don't laugh.

The food was pretty good there meet louf is $20.00 - $40.00 that's expensive. But over all it's a great place to eat. It a regular spot for most people who live here and it's very clean and the bathrooms are somewhat clean.

Came up to LaFollette for dinner w/ my wife's family and we had to pick a place that was more "American" as some in the group are less than adventurous. We settled on The Diner, and it was a great decision, although I wasn't very confident based on the buildings exterior. There were 9 of us but we pulled a couple of tables together and had no trouble. I had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, which I would only give a 6/10, mainly because it just wasn't very flavorful, although the meat was quite tender. My wife had the meatloaf, which she said was wonderful. The sides were great; between all 9 of us we had the Mac n cheese, fried okra, mashed potatoes, fries, slaw, mixed greens, pinto beans, green beans, and probably 1 or 2 more. All of them were made in house with the exception of the green beans which were canned. Some had the chicken tenders, a couple had the hamburger steak, and a couple had just vegetable plates. Everyone enjoyed their entrées, the only caveats being the philly I mentioned above and the hamburger steak being a little over done. I would definitely recommend any of the desserts. At our table we had the caramel cake, the banana pudding, the coconut pie, and the "Hummingbird" cake (which was a lot like an Italian Cream cheese except instead of coconut it has pineapple and banana in it). All of them were very good, and clearly not store bought. I personally think the Caramel Cake with Peanut Butter frosting was the best. We will definitely go back when in town. I should mention it's very affordable as well.

Great cheap Southern fare. Food is always homemade and generally pretty good. They also have a great selection of homemade desserts.

My boyfriend and I stopped in on Thursday and had the all-you-can-eat steak. The cuts of steak were odd but very good for all you can eat. Our first order was over cooked but the second and third were perfect. We both got fries and they were good. I also got an order of corn nuggets but they were over fried and hard. The sweet tea was wonderful. They had an assortment of homemade deserts but I was much to full to get one. The only reason this place didn't rank higher was the fact that the place could have been cleaner and the service wasn't anything to write home about. Overall, I'd recommend checking it out but don't have super high expectations. I will be going back as I bet they have a great burger.

I waited at the door to be greeted. After 5 minutes I was told to sit any where I wanted. I waited 15 minutes, saw 3 other couples get greeted, given menus and drink orders taken while my boyfriends and I didn't even get a menu or an acknowledgment. One worker stayed on the phone the entire time.

I got a burger and a slice of pie. Truly a great burger, nothing exciting, but certainly good. Generally a plain fun atmosphere and some of the best food in Campbell County. Great Dessert too!
